SUDOKU
More and more Americans are discovering the fun of a logic puzzle called Sudoku, Japanese for “numbers singly.”
The rules of the puzzle are simple but the line of reasoning required to reach completion may be difficult. In fact, some teachers are even using Sudoku as an exercise in logical reasoning.
A Sudoku puzzle is a 9-by-9 grid split into nine 3-by-3 boxes, with a symmetrical pattern of numbers in about 36 of the 81 squares. In the solution, each row, column and box must contain one each of the numerals 1 to 9. No mathematics is involved in solving the puzzle. (NAPSI)
