Weinberg Campus Celebrates 15 Years

The Weinberg Campus, a senior care organization providing eight specialized living environments and a wide range of services, recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, and that’s truly an achievement to be proud of.

Weinberg Campus staff, residents, their families, elected officials, and community members celebrated with events in September at the Campus, located at 2700 North Forest Road in Amherst.

In 1993, the Rosa Coplon Jewish Home and Infirmary moved to its current location on its now 130 acres in Getzville, as part of the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Campus. The innovative design of the Campus quickly became both a national and international model as one of five national recipients for outstanding architecture design for the elderly. The “campus” name more accurately described the widest range of care provided, including a nursing home, independent residential apartments, an adult home and assisted living program, a home care agency, day programs and a variety of amenities.

“Our history is a vital part of our success,” says David Dunkelman, president and chief executive officer. “Weinberg Campus is continually looking at ways to evolve and to enhance the quality of life for the individuals we serve. As we commemorate how far we have come, we also look to our future.”
