Dear Readers,
While it can a lot of fun to enjoy a trip away from the Western New York area — see Georgia Burnette’s second piece about a recent trip to San Francisco for confirmation of that fact — there is so much joy to be found in our own backyard, and just slightly beyond.
There are WNY events like America’s Fair and the Scottish Festival. The Shaw Festival, featured again in a review by Grant Golden, is not too far across the Canadian border. Then there is the event that graces our cover: Lucille Ball’s Birthday Celebration at the Lucy-Desi Center in Jamestown. Coming a few months after the popular Lucy-Desi Days, it’s another opportunity to honor the great Lucille Ball and enjoy the beauty of Jamestown.
Looking for something that helps the community? Take a look at our calendar of August events. Many of the organizations therein are dependent on help from committed, caring Western New Yorkers. We offer examples in every issue of Forever Young.
