Mix It Up
The vast holdings of the Albright Knox Art Gallery are showcased in Remix the Collection, now through October 2007. An additional phase of the exhibition will open in January. Impressionist, post-impressionist, modern and contemporary artworks are on view.

Joyful Voices
The Rainbow Singers, a mixed choral group, under the directorship of Anita Harless, prepare for upcoming concerts in Niagara Falls, NY. Sing Joyfully will be presented on December 2 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 639 Main Street and on December 8, at Riverside United Presbyterian Church, 815 84th Street and Lindbergh Avenue.
The concerts, a collection of holiday music and a Christmas Cantata, begins at 7 p.m. with refreshments to follow. Donations accepted.

Historic Christmas
The Amherst Museum’s Christmas Family Event promises holiday fun for
the entire family with festive tours, music, entertainment, decorations, refreshments, story reading, Santa, a children’s gift shop and crafts of the season. Activities are planned from 1-6 p.m.: historic buildings open for self-guided tours 1-3 p.m.; guided tours begin at 3 p.m.; last tour goes out at 6 p.m. Also enjoy live seasonal music and a lantern tour beginning at 3 p.m. No reservations are necessary. Admission is $6 for the general public , members $5) and children $5.

A Delight for the Grandchildren
Theatre of Youth (TOY) will continue its 35th season of shows with A Little House Christmas, by James DeVita, adapted from the classic series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Directed by Meg Quinn, A Little House Christmas opens Friday, December 8, at 7 p.m., and continues Saturday, December 9 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m., Sunday, December 10 at 2 p.m., Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 16 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 17 at 2 p.m. Recommended for Ages 5+. Seasonal Cuisine at Broadway Market
Regardless of cultural background or religious
beliefs, everyone cherishes food traditions at the center
of holiday celebrations. To honor those customs and to showcase the old-world quality of Buffalo’s best loved foods, the Broadway Market will present a public cooking demonstration and tasting on Saturday, December 9 at 1 p.m. featuring the traditional Polish meal (Wigilia) served on Christmas Eve.

Shea’s Free Films
The 16th Annual Free Family Film Series at Shea’s Performing Arts Center provides free movies until spring. Shea’s was originally built as a movie house when it opened in 1926 and has one of the largest viewing screens in New York State. Tickets are available seven days prior to the film date and on a first-come, first-served basis. Call for ticket info.
