Wondrous Glass Flowers
The last weekend to experience the glorious glass marvels that make up Botanical Wonders: The Story of the Harvard Glass Flowers at the Corning Museum of Glass is November 23-25, and is well worth the short drive. This is also the Museum’s annual after-Thanksgiving sale in the Glass Market. Several other features for children are also running, making November an ideal month for a family CMOG visit.

Gift Shopping
Wouldn’t it be nice to finish your shopping in November? The 27th annual Kenan Arts Council Holiday Gift Show at Kenan Center on November 16-18 might just do the trick. The show will include handcrafted work in all price ranges, herbal gifts made by the Kenan Herb Club and a quilt created by the Kenan Quilters’ Guild for a raffle. Proceeds from the show will support the Kenan Center’s many community-oriented programs as well as the Art Council’s scholarships and arts grants to area schools.

Christmas at the Market
Christmas markets have been popular in Europe for years, and on November 23 and 24, Buffalo’s venerable Broadway Market looks to bring this tradition to Western New York with its first annual Christmas Food Fair. Featuring food, musical performances, and special gifts, the celebration will run through Thanksgiving weekend from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Magic of The Nutcracker
Ballet Met’s The Nutracker is an annual tradition at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, but it’s hard to say who enjoys it more — children or adults. For kids, the classic tale of a handsome prince is a visual stunner, with Christmas trees growing before their very eyes. And for adults, it’s a wonderful reminder of what it’s like to be young during the holidays. Running from November 24-25, there is no better place in Buffalo to experience this magical story than at Shea’s.
