The American Heart Association (AHA) will hold its second Go Red for Women Luncheon (GRFWL).
The event aims at raising money for the research and education necessary to increase awareness of the risks and prevention of heart disease and stroke, the leading causes of death for local women. This year’s GRFWL will be held Thursday, October 19 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Mary Seaton Room at Kleinhan’s Music Hall.
The 2006 Chairperson is Cheryl Klass, president of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and vice president for Kaleida Health. Ms. Klass has been a great advocate for women’s health in the WNY area for many years and also serves as an AHA Board member. “Cheryl Klass adds an element of excitement and breadth of knowledge to the cause as she leads this important effort to raise WNY women’s awareness of heart disease and stroke,” said Gia Coone, executive director of the American Heart Association of WNY.
There will be a survivor fashion show with fashions from Macy’s, a heart healthy lunch and a great opportunity for women to join the Go Red For Women movement. Boxing celebrity and Buffalonian Baby Joe Mesi will be on hand as a fashion model for the event.
Media Sponsors are: Forever Young Magazine, WKBW/Channel 7 TV, WBEN Radio, Lamar Outdoor Advertising.
The AHA is also pleased to announce the Presenting Sponsor for the second year in a row, the Buffalo Athletic Club (BAC). Kaleida Health and KeyBank are Red Dress Sponsors.
