The Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo, NYS Diabetes Prevention program, The Erie County Department of Senior Services, City of Buffalo Senior Services, Leki USA and Forever Young Magazine are proud to present October’s Passport to Wellness: Walking for Health program for 50+ adults. The Passport program features a series of guided outdoor walks, valuable health information for older adults, screenings and a great way to see friends or meet new ones.
The public is invited to join the Passport to Wellness walks and community groups are welcome. A registration fee is required ($3 per walk), which may be paid in advance or on the morning of the walk. Please contact 851-4052 or e-mail wellness@city-buffalo.org for more information or visit www.BeActiveNYS.org.

Walks will be held on the following Friday mornings:
Oct. 6
Erie Basin Marina, by the main entrance, Buffalo.
Oct. 13
Hopkins Rd. Boardwalk Trail, Margaret Louise Park, Amherst.
Oct. 20
Forest Lawn Cemetery, Delaware Avenue/Delevan entrance.
Oct. 27
Delaware Park Rose Garden, meet in rear of Rose Garden, Hoyt Lake.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the moderately paced walks will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and last about 45 minutes. There is a short walk (one mile) and a long walk (two miles) for any fitness level. A light, nutritious snack will be provided at the end of each walk. Incentive gifts will reward everyone who keeps walking to the conclusion of the program. Please call Jenna Brinkworth or Philip Haberstro at 851-4052 or email to wellness@city-buffalo.org for information or directions.
