Grandparents Day is always a Fair highlight.

Grandparents Day at America’s Fair is a day in which young and old alike take center stage. For the
Fair veterans, it is a time to think of past visits, and to contemplate all that has changed at the Fairgrounds site, and beyond. For thr grandkids, it is the start of a lifetime of Fair memories. That is why Forever Young
is proud to once again be involved with this year’s event, scheduled for
August 14.

Visitors can take advantage
of a special gate promotion: receive one free child admission (ages 6-12) with a paid adult admission. Early bird admission is just $4. Presale tickets, available through August 10 at all Tickets.com locations inside Tops Markets, are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors (60-plus), $3 for children (6-12) and kids under 5 are free.

Also, every day is a “one price ride day,” in which patrons can ride the midway rides all day for just $20. Pick up a coupon at participating Rite Aid locations to save $3 off of the regular price.

The grandkids can get in on the August 14 fun at the Superhero Party in Slade Park from noon until 2 p.m. Kids can come dressed as their favorite superhero, help paint a giant mural, participate in special workshops from the Home Depot, get a free superhero mask and much more.

At 4 p.m., watch the Forever Young Wedding Vow Renewal at 4 p.m. on the Community Stage. Ten couples who have been married for twenty-five years or more were chosen after submitting essays on “What Makes My Marriage Dreamlike.”

The Magical Daily Parade marches through the Fairgrounds at 5 p.m., starting with a live dove release and featuring the Pepsi-Cola Marching Band, Calliope Wagon Hitch, and more.

New this year are the Old Tyme Lumberjack Show and the Stingray Encounter, Skyhunters Birds of Prey also has something new this year, a golden eagle that will make its Western New York debut at the Fair.

And did you know that farm animals take baths too? Check out the new “How to Give a Cow a Bath” outside the Milking Parlor at 11 a.m., “How to Give a Chicken a Bath” at the Poultry and Rabbit Barn at 1 p.m. and “How to Give a Pig a Bath” at the Ag-Sperience Barn at 3 p.m.

This is just a small sampling of what to expect. Visit www.americas-fair.org or call 716-649-3900 for more information.
