Grandparents Day at America’s Fair
Tuesday, August 15 is Grandparent’s Day at America’s Fair. Sponsored by AARP, WHTT and Forever Young Magazine, grandparents can bring the grandkids to spend the day discovering how The Magic Continues at the 2006 Fair, running August 9-20.

Take advantage of the special gate rate: receive one free child admission (ages 6-12) with a paid adult admission. Early bird admission is just $3. Presale adult tickets are $7 (save $2), seniors (60+) are $5 (save $2), children (6-12) are $3 (save $1), kids under five are free. Tickets available at Tickets.com, including Tops Markets and Martin’s Super Food Stores.
New this year, every day is a One Price Ride Day. Pick up a coupon at any WNY NOCO location and bring it to the Strates Ticket Booth at the Fair to save $3 off the regular $20 price to enjoy all midway rides for one low price!
Bring the kids to Potter Party in the Park, 1-4 p.m. in Slade Park. Make wizard hats, see a giant-screen movie, get free Harry Potter glasses and more.

At 4 p.m., watch the Forever Young Magazine Wedding Vow Renewal on the Community Stage. Ten couples who have been married for 25 years or more were chosen after submitting themed essays on “What Makes Our Marriage Magical.”
Watch the Magical Daily Parade 5 p.m., starting with a live dove release. Hosted by our very own Wizard of Aaaaahhhs and featuring the Heinz Hitch pulled by eight magnificent Percheron horses, Little Rollo, the 9-foot tall kid and his friend The Living Marionette and Gryphon, a unique feathered bird stilt puppet accompanied by a prancing acrobat. Over 16? Sign up for the BW’s BBQ Turkey Leg Eating Contest at 6:15 p.m. to win dinner at Medieval Times in Toronto at the Buffalo.com Grandstand. The World Jousting Tournament produced by Brothers in Arms takes place at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand.
Check out the brand new Showplace building, where some the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series greatest stock cars from the Richard Childress Racing Network will be on display. Among the cars included in the display are the No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevy that was driven by seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt, the No. 31 Cingular Wireless car driven by Jeff Burton, the No. 29 GM Goodwrench car driven by Kevin Harvick and the No. 07 Jack Daniels car driven by Clint Bowyer from the RCR team.

The Fabulous Darnells featuring The Magic Poodle Follies with John Cassidy the Bizarre Balloonologist is fun for the whole family, daily on the Community Stage. John Cassidy is an award winning comedy magician and balloon sculptor whose amazing speed earned him a new Guinness World Record for an amazing 494 balloon sculptures made in one hour!
The internationally famous Stars of the Peking Acrobats are back by popular demand performing daily in the Family Entertainment Dome.
