Rogovin Series Premiers
Native American Series, 1963-2002 by famed documentary photographer Milton Rogovin continues through June 24 at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University. This series was photographed over a 39-year period, at a time when Native Americans were mainly invisible in mainstream culture. Images are from Iroquois communities in upstate NY, Canada and the westside of Buffalo. New poetry by local Iroquois author Eric Gansworth adds a powerful Native American perspective to the exhibition.
