WNY CAREGIVERS
Women’s Support Group at
Harris Hill Nursing Facility
The McGuire Group will be hosting a support group for women caring for a partner with a memory impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease, on the third Monday of each month from 56:30 p.m. at its Harris Hill Nursing Facility, 2699 Wehrle Drive, Lancaster. This group was formerly held at The McGuire CARE Center on Evans Street in Williamsville. Respite services are available for caregivers who need to bring their loved ones to the session. Contact Deborah Haenggi at 716-694-7700 ext. 148 to make arrangements.
Harris Hill Nursing Facility provides state-of-the-art skilled nursing care, subacute rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s/dementia care and short-term/respite care. It won five out of five stars in the Inside Guide to America’s Nursing Homes.
Support Groups for Caregivers
Support groups offer an opportunity for caregivers to express feelings and share coping techniques in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Often, support groups aid caregivers by helping them learn more about Alzheimer’s/dementia and the resources that are available in their communities. The McGuire Group hosts several support groups for caregivers at the times and locations below.
