If you have reached the age of 60 you are a member of a faction that is on a trek to a new frontier, a lifetime marker to which no other group has gone before. New scientific data and the statistics regarding increasing longevity are constantly being updated. Most current statistics indicate that you will live better, healthier and longer than previously believed or imagined. The light is on, the truth is out, and yes, the probability of living to 100 is now becoming a fact of life, breaking the boundaries to a new frontier.
The realization of our newfound longevity is catching many experts by surprise and amazingly some still don’t get it. Some government agencies for the aging are not ready, not equipped, not organized and not prepared to serve and utilize the talents, skills and abilities of those entering the New Frontier of Aging. Based on the announcement of Club 99, Erie County Senior Services is now a national leader blazing the trail to the new frontier of aging.
About Club 99
Healthier lifestyles coupled with advancements in medical and pharmaceutical sciences are constantly extending projected life expectancy. One of the fastest growing demographic groups in the nation is those over age 100, and every passing day finds more and more people reaching this milestone birthday. Recognizing, acknowledging and reacting to this fact, Erie County Senior Services is implementing Club 99
As the name implies, full membership status in Club 99 is available only to persons age 99 and above; however, a qualified membership for those seeking to attain full membership is available to every county resident over age 60. The primary mission of Club 99 is to help qualified and full members attain optimal well-being by providing a wide array of programs and services designed to help maintain physical independence enabling members to continue living in and contributing to the enhancement of our community.
Best of all, there is absolutely no cost associated with being a member, and all members will have the opportunity for free fitness training, nutrition education, wellness education, nutrition counseling and special membership discounts from local merchants.
A listing of the specific dates, times and places for the upcoming membership recruitment rallies for Club 99 will be published soon in Forever Young, a sponsor of the program.
