Winter Wellness

Cold and snowy days can make even the most dedicated fitness buff less motivated. But just think how great you’ll feel once you get out for some physical activity while seeing your friends and staying heart healthy! Here are some great opportunities, right in your community with Passport to Wellness programs. Stay active!

Physical Activity Classes
Visit any of the following Buffalo Senior Centers and take advantage of the free and fun Passport to Wellness physical activity classes. The classes consist of stretching, toning, light cardio and chair exercises. Anyone can participate. Passport to Wellness physical activity classes will be held weekday mornings beginning the week of January 8, for six weeks through February 12. Everyone is welcome!

Walking Series
If you are a interested in a fun indoor walking program, join the Passport to Wellness Walking Series for 50+ adults. Indoor winter walks will be held at area malls starting Friday morning February 23. A short walk and long walk are offered so all fitness levels can participate).

Before each walk a presentation on a health topic of special interest to older adults and a warmup will be offered. Experienced leaders and volunteers will guide the walks and provide helpful health tips. After the walk, relax and have a light snack and water, and pick up handouts and freebies from exhibitors. There is a modest registration fee and group rates are also available:

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., walk begins at 9 a.m.
